At a recent round table in Castle Donington, leaders from legal, marketing, construction, security, non‑profit and tech sectors met to discuss how AI in Business is reshaping modern work. The panel – including Steve Brooks, Jemma Taylor‑Smith, Alex Mills and others – explored how AI can boost productivity and support smarter ways of working.
The group agreed that AI strengthens human intelligence rather than replacing it. Many organisations are already using it to improve sales content, streamline tenders and reduce admin, helping teams focus on creative, high‑value tasks. Security remained a key concern, with participants highlighting the need for trusted, enterprise‑grade tools such as Microsoft Copilot to protect data and maintain client confidence.
They also discussed how AI can accelerate workforce development by giving junior staff earlier access to strategic projects. While cultural barriers and uncertainty still exist, the panel stressed the importance of clear communication, steady training and a phased approach to adoption.
Looking ahead, leaders expressed hopes for AI that simplifies finance processes, improves media distribution and reduces burnout. Their shared message was that successful AI adoption requires balance: innovation paired with caution, and efficiency supported by empathy.
