Better together.
Dynamics 365 and Copilot
How Microsoft technology can optimize your SMB finance and operations with Dynamics 365 and Copilot.
Have you heard about AI?
It's hard to do much these days in business or technology without being told that the future is AI. At Truly SMB we're separating the hype from the reality and showing how small businesses like yours can use AI to reduce slow, tedious and repetitive manual tasks.
Specifically, we're looking at how Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central play so well together for optimizing small business finance and operations.
And now, Microsoft have tightly embedded it with their AI solution, Copilot. We're really excited about that at Truly SMB and in this blog we'll tell you why.

But first things first
What even is Business Central?
Dynamics 365 Business Central is the small business accounting system from Microsoft. That’s quite a long name so you’ll see us just calling it Business Central, or even ‘BC’. It’s cloud based, secure and easy to use. It’s a perfect fit if you’ve outgrown legacy systems like Sage 50 or entry level systems like QuickBooks online or Xero.
It’s part of the wider family of Microsoft business applications, Dynamics 365. That includes tools for CRM, customer service, field service and more.

What is Copilot?
Copilot is Microsoft’s AI tool. It’s tightly embedded in nearly all their programs, including Teams, Outlook and Excel.
From summarizing meeting notes, to creating agents to help you with onboarding new employees, there’s an ever-growing list of things Copilot can do to automate business processes.

Better together
And with that in mind, we're now super excited to see Microsoft releasing Copilot into Business Central, both as contextual chat and with specific use cases.
One of the things that all finance systems struggle with (dare we say it, even BC) is manual and repetitive processes. So being able to simply ask questions of Copilot, for example "show me all the latest quotes from customer A" is a big step towards eliminating these issues.

Likewise, repetitive processes such as bank reconciliation can now be significantly sped up with the use of Copilot, preventing you from doing the entire process manually.

And of course this is just the start. Now you can connect Microsoft Teams to Business Central using Copilot, and have data flow around the business the way you'd always hoped.
Thankfully at Truly SMB, we're long past the days where we had to break the news to customers who asked "It's all Microsoft so presumably these all talk to each other?".
Now the answer is simply, "Yes".
