Five signs it's time to upgrade to Business Central.

Most of our customers switch from Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or Google spreadsheets. Business Central is typically the next step for organisations that have outgrown entry-level accounting.

Heavy reliance on spreadsheets
Finance & operations data spread across multiple systems
Limited visibility across departments
Manual reporting and reconciliation
Systems that don't integrate properly

Recognise any of these? Business Central probably fits and we'll be straight with you if it doesn't.

Business Central implementation. Fixed scope. Fixed price. No surprises.

ERP implementations are often complex, expensive and unpredictable. Most SMBs we meet have been quoted £80k-£150k with open-ended consulting and unclear timelines. We do it differently.

Traditional ERP consultancies build every implementation from scratch. That level of flexibility makes sense for large enterprises, but for SMBs it creates slow, costly and overly complex projects.

At Truly SMB, we take a different approach. We deliver fixed-scope, fixed-price Business Central implementations using structured packs built around the most common finance and operations requirements for growing businesses.

You still get a system configured for your business just without the cost, risk and timeline drift of traditional ERP projects.

  • Reduce unnecessary complexity from day one
  • Shorter, more predictable implementation timelines
  • Fixed price - what you're quoted is what you pay
  • Pre-built packs aligned to common SMB processes
  • Configured around your business, not from a blank page
  • Team based across 3 countries - US, Canada and UK

Common Business Central questions answered.

How much does Business Central cost?

Your quote has three components: a one-off implementation fee, licensing and support. A QuickBooks, Sage 50 or Xero "Kickstart" starts from under £10,000. Adding inventory or fixed assets is £10,000 to £15,000, AP automation and project accounting £17,000 to £20,000, and complex warehousing projects £20,000 to £30,000. Licensing is £65 per full user per month for Essentials and £7 for Team Member. Support starts at £399 a month on our Bronze tier.

How long does a Business Central implementation take?

A typical implementation runs 3 months from signature to go-live, and most projects reach go-live in 8 to 12 weeks. We can move faster, as little as one month, but it is usually your testing time that gets squeezed.

Do I need to parallel run my old system?

No. A well-tested system means you do not need to parallel-run. The more testing you do during the project, the more successful your go-live will be.

Is Business Central secure?

Yes. Security, privacy and compliance are core to Microsoft's cloud platform, and Microsoft invests billions each year in encryption, backup and threat protection across its products.

Why don't you do a scoping exercise?

We match your business outcomes to fixed-price, fixed-scope implementation packages. Got inventory? The inventory pack goes into the proposal. No multi-company? We leave that pack out. It means you get a real number quickly, without paying for a scoping phase first.

What happens after go-live?

You get structured go-live check-ins, a dedicated month-end review for your finance team, and a formal handover to our Business Applications Support team for ongoing support and future enhancements.
