Vicky Critchley, CEO of Truly SMB, reflects on the company’s first six months and why the Midlands SMBs AI journey can’t wait. She explains how the region’s strong business energy and rapid tech change are creating a pivotal moment for small and mid‑sized companies.
Truly SMB has grown quickly, now supporting more than 300 customers across the UK, US and Canada from its new Castle Donington HQ. Vicky highlights the Midlands’ action‑driven mindset and argues that AI is the next major shift SMBs must engage with now, not later.
To help leaders cut through the noise, Truly SMB is hosting an AI roundtable with TheBusinessDesk.com, focused on practical, jargon‑free advice. Vicky shares tips such as starting small, using AI to automate repetitive tasks, and choosing secure tools that fit each business. She notes that early wins build confidence and keep adoption realistic.
She believes the Midlands is well positioned to lead this movement, with local businesses already exploring AI for inventory, customer experience and predictive maintenance. The message is clear: those who begin their Midlands SMBs AI journey today will be better placed to thrive. Truly SMB will continue supporting that progress with guidance, community collaboration and tools like its AI Fitness Assessment.
