Managed IT support, done properly.
Transparent per-user pricing. A real human on the helpdesk. Cyber security baked in, not bolted on. The IT partner SMBs actually recommend to their friends and the team voted CRN Managed Services Provider of the Year 2025.
Managed IT Support shouldn’t feel like a fight.
Most SMBs we meet have been let down by an IT provider. Slow tickets, surprise invoices, security treated as an afterthought. Here’s the difference, and why CRN named us Managed Services Provider of the Year 2025.
The usual story Old way
- Tickets sit in a queue. Nobody answers when it really matters.
- Security is an upsell, not a standard. Cyber Essentials? “We can quote you.”
- Pricing comes wrapped in jargon, hours, and asterisks.
- You only hear from them when something’s broken or it’s renewal time.
- Patches, backups and AV scattered across half a dozen tools nobody owns.
The Truly SMB way Done properly
- A real helpdesk that picks up. Tickets resolved, not parked.
- Cyber security included from Premium up, not an awkward add-on call.
- Flat per-user pricing. You can do the maths in your head.
- 24/7 proactive monitoring - we usually fix it before you’ve noticed.
- One partner, one bill, one team that knows your business by name.

Real reviews from businesses we look after, from bookkeepers to manufacturers. We earn them one ticket at a time.
We have worked with Truly SMB from the very early days and can’t rate their service highly enough. The whole team is polite, engaging and supportive when you contact them. A true partner to our business and would highly recommend their services for any size of company.
Working with Truly SMB for over 18 months now. They are a brilliant company to work with, very responsive and helpful team. Dominic is particularly good. 100% recommend.
Finding the right MSP to look after our IT was essential. Truly SMB have been brilliant. We feel secure, well looked after and someone is always there when we need them. Highly recommended.
We have used Truly SMB for many years to support our business. You get to know the team on first name terms and they get to know your business very well. I would happily recommend them to support your business.
Since moving our IT support to Truly SMB in Derby, we’ve been incredibly happy with the decision. From day one, their team has been responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in our business. What really stands out is the personal touch, they don’t just feel like an external provider, but an extension of our team.
We’ve always found Tim, Amy and the whole team at Truly SMB to be extremely responsive to any IT issues we have had. They have also provided excellent advice on Cyber security.
Managed IT Support questions everyone asks.
Still not sure? Ask us directly and we'll give you a straight answer.
What is a managed service provider (MSP)?
A managed service provider looks after a business's IT on an ongoing basis for a fixed recurring fee, rather than being called in job by job. That typically covers the helpdesk, monitoring, patching, security and backup. The point is that responsibility for keeping things running sits with the provider, not with you.
What are the benefits of managed services?
Predictable cost is the obvious one - a flat per-user fee instead of unpredictable hourly bills. Beyond that, problems get caught early because someone is monitoring around the clock, security and patching happen on a schedule rather than when someone remembers, and you deal with one team and one invoice instead of juggling separate vendors for antivirus, backup, training and licensing.
What is the difference between managed services and IT support?
IT support is reactive: something breaks, you raise a ticket, someone fixes it. Managed services include that helpdesk, but wrap it in the proactive work that stops things breaking in the first place - monitoring, patching, security hardening, backup and reporting. In practice the two terms get used interchangeably, so it is worth asking any provider exactly what is covered by the monthly fee.
How do I choose the right managed service provider?
Ask what is genuinely included versus billed as an extra, particularly around security - a provider that quotes separately for Cyber Essentials, training and backup will cost more than the headline suggests. Check whether pricing is flat per user or hourly, whether the helpdesk is staffed by people you can actually reach, and whether they work with businesses your size. Reviews from customers like you are worth more than a capability list.
How much does IT support cost per user?
Our plans start at £30 per user per month for Custom (50 user minimum), £50 for Essentials and £70 for Premium (both 10 user minimum). All prices exclude VAT. Pricing is flat and per user, so what you see on the pricing table is what you pay.
What's included in managed IT support?
Every plan includes a UK helpdesk staffed by real engineers, 24/7 proactive monitoring and alerting, and update and patch management. Essentials adds proactive cyber security for computers and Microsoft 365, AI-powered spam filtering, Microsoft 365 backup, service reporting and an IT knowledgebase. Premium adds Cyber Essentials certification, Security Awareness Training, a company-wide password manager, dark web breach monitoring and DNS website filtering.
Is cyber security included, or is it an add-on?
Included. Endpoint protection, Microsoft 365 hardening, patching and continuous monitoring come as standard on Essentials and Premium. Premium goes further with Cyber Essentials certification, staff Security Awareness Training and dark web monitoring built into the price. On the Custom plan security modules can be picked individually to sit alongside your in-house team.
Can you help us get Cyber Essentials certified?
Yes. Cyber Essentials certification is included in the Premium plan, and the certification fee is covered as part of it. Premium customers also get discounted CREST-approved penetration testing. On the Custom plan, Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification are available as add-ons.
What size businesses do you work with?
We specialise in growing UK SMBs. Essentials and Premium have a 10 user minimum, which suits most small businesses. The Custom plan starts at 50 users and is designed for organisations that already have an internal IT team and want our infrastructure and monitoring behind them.
Do you support Microsoft 365 and Business Central too?
Yes. Alongside day-to-day IT support we deliver Microsoft 365, Copilot, Power BI, Azure, Teams Voice and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central - implementation, training and ongoing support. One partner, one bill, one team that knows your business by name.
Talk to a real human.
Tell us roughly where you are today, current provider, team size, any security headaches keeping you up at night and we’ll come back with a straight answer on whether we’re a good fit.
No jargon, no high-pressure sales call. If we’re not the right partner for you, we’ll say so.
